Department of Mechanical Engineering

Overview

From immediate products to advance technology

Mechanical engineering is integral in the production of all industrial products such as accessible products, spacecraft, large-scale machines, structures with nano-scale, transportation machines, information equipment and medical equipment, all require mechanical engineering. It is an important mission of mechanical engineering to pioneer new applications using applied physics, chemistry, and biomechanical phenomenon. In short, mechanical engineering takes advanced technology of engineering.

The department of mechanical engineering is roughly divided into four groups, “Materials Science, Mechanics and Processing”, “Manufacturing and Machine Elements”, “Systems, Control and Biomechanical Engineering” and “Fluids, Energy Conversion, Aerospace and Global Environment”.

The group of “Materials Science, Mechanics and Processing” deals with the development of advance materials and characterization used for the machines.

It is necessary to process and shape materials for machines. Therefore, the group of “Manufacturing and Machine Elements” covers the mechanical elements which compose machines and processing technology.

The group of “Systems, Control and Biomechanical Engineering” includes implementation of autonomous and intelligent mechanical systems, such as robots, mechatoronics, wheeled vehicles, flight vehicles, dynamical systems, optimal movement of living beings and technological applications of biomechanisms and welfare support equipment.

The group of “Fluids, Energy Conversion, Aerospace and Global Environment” covers low speed fluids, aerodynamics, thermal energy conversion for low emissions and aerospace technology.

Thus, mechanical engineering covers interdisciplinary academic fields. We are proud to be able to respond to students' expectations. You will be able to gain skills in special attainments based on mechanical principals after understanding the basic sciences (mathematics and physics etc.) in the first and second years. In the fourth year, students will carry out undergraduate research to obtain a bachelor’s degree in their chosen favorite research group.

Most graduates proceed to graduate school to gain professional skills and to master the ability to solve problems under various circumstances, while others choose employment after graduation and become active contributors in the private sector.

Furthermore, we provide doctor's programs intended to produce experts with highly specialized professional skill.
